Why do bottled granular or tablet health products oxidize, deteriorate or change color?

Quality issues:

Unopened bottled health products (mostly granular or tablet) oxidize, deteriorate or change color.

Cause analysis:

(1) Packaging materials Poor bottle barrier properties - The barrier properties of the plastic bottles used for health products (i.e. the amount of oxygen, air and other gases that can pass through the bottle) are related to the material, thickness, raw material model, etc. If the bottle material is incorrectly selected or the thickness is thin, the barrier properties will deteriorate, and the outside air and oxygen will enter the bottle, causing the main ingredients of the health products to slowly oxidize, thus deteriorating or changing color. The barrier properties of the bottle can be verified by testing the oxygen permeability or air permeability of the bottle.

(2) Finished product packaging process Poor sealing - The bottle mouth is prone to slow leakage during storage. If the torque or opening force of the bottle cap is too small, it will accelerate the occurrence of leakage. This can be verified by testing the torque or opening force of the bottle cap and the sealing performance (negative pressure method). In addition, the sealing performance (negative pressure method) test is mainly for plastic bottles.

- Pay attention to the daily monitoring of the main performance of the packaged bottle, such as oxygen permeability or air permeability of the bottle, torque or opening force of the bottle cap, and sealing performance (negative pressure method).

- Choose packaging materials with high barrier properties or improve the quality of existing bottle thickness, raw material model, etc. to increase the barrier properties of the bottle.

- Choose the appropriate torque or opening force of the bottle cap to ensure that it is easy for users to open and that the bottle mouth has good sealing.

 

 

What should we do if the heat sealing of health care products blister packaging is not tight?

Quality issues:

Health care products blister packaging is prone to leakage due to loose heat sealing, and health care products may deteriorate. Cause analysis:

(1) Packaging materials Improper selection of heat sealing layer materials - Depending on the characteristics of health care products and the production process, packaging materials with good heat sealing properties should be selected. For example, for liquid, powder, health care products that require heat sterilization, if the heat sealing layer material in the blister or bottom plate is not properly selected, it is easy to cause the sealing of the blister packaging to decrease and rupture.

(2) Finished product packaging production process Improper control of the heat sealing process - If the heat sealing parameters are not properly controlled during the heat sealing process (such as heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure, heat sealing time) or the heat sealing equipment itself has defects, the heat sealing effect of the blister packaging is likely to deteriorate, and excessive or poor heat sealing may occur, which in turn causes problems such as package rupture and leakage. Verification is carried out through tests such as heat sealing strength and sealing performance (negative pressure method).

What is the reason why liquid health care soft plastic packaging is prone to leakage at the seal?

Quality problem: Liquid health care products in bags are very likely to leak at the seal during transportation and sales.

Cause analysis:

(1) Packaging material Poor heat adhesion - When the heat seal is just sealed and has not yet cooled, the impact force generated by the liquid being filled is likely to cause the heat seal to break immediately afterwards, that is, the packaging material has poor heat adhesion. Low composite strength - If the packaging used is a composite film, the composite film at the seal may be easily delaminated due to low composite strength, which in turn causes the heat seal strength of the seal to deteriorate and the seal to break and leak.

(2) Finished product packaging processing Poor heat seal strength - If the heat seal parameters of the heat seal are not adjusted properly, it is easy to cause the heat seal to be loose or excessive, resulting in poor sealing quality of the seal. Under the impact of liquid health care products or when squeezed by external forces, it is easy to leak liquid and break the bag at the seal. It can be verified by monitoring the heat seal strength and sealing performance (negative pressure method).

——Pay attention to the monitoring of various performance indicators such as packaging pressure resistance, heat seal strength, hot adhesive strength, peel strength, and sealing performance (negative pressure method).

——Improve the parameters of the heat sealer and select packaging materials with good composite fastness and heat seal performance.

 

 

What should we do if health foods in soft plastic packaging become moldy during the shelf life?

Quality issues: Health foods in plastic composite packaging are prone to mold and deterioration during the shelf life.

Cause analysis:

(1) The packaging material has poor barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor - if the packaging has poor barrier properties to water vapor and oxygen outside the packaging, it is easy for more water vapor and oxygen to penetrate into the packaging, causing the health products to become moldy. Poor rubbing resistance - for composite films containing aluminum foil, such as aluminum-plastic composite films and aluminum-plated composite films, if the packaging material has poor rubbing resistance, it is easy to form pinholes and creases on the packaging surface, resulting in reduced barrier properties.

(2) Poor sealing during the finished product packaging process - if the packaging material (including the heat seal and the packaging bag body) has poor sealing, the packaging bag is prone to leaking, causing the health products to become moldy.

——Pay attention to the monitoring of main properties such as oxygen permeability, water vapor permeability, oxygen permeability after kneading, water vapor permeability after kneading, heat seal strength, and sealing performance (negative pressure method).

——Improve the quality of existing packaging materials, select packaging materials with good barrier properties and good kneading resistance, and improve the heat sealing parameters of the heat sealing machine.
